Theme Park Activities for Grownups

Children arenít the only ones who can have a good time while vacationing at the worldís theme parks. Many of the larger venues around the world offer a multitude of entertainment options that adults can enjoy too.

Indulgence: Many theme parks offer spa access. For example, Hershey Park in Pennsylvania boasts a chocolate spa with treatments such as a Swedish massage with chocolate-scented massage oil, a chocolate bean full-body polish, whipped cocoa bubble baths and chocolate fondue body wraps. The best deals can be had by researching package deals in advance. For more information, check out the resortís web site.

Activities: Parents fatigued from cartoon character overload can grab quality couple time by searching out nightlife options. At Disney World in Orlando, Florida, adults can hang out and groove to live music with Cajun food at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney, and auto racing fans can check out the Richard Petty driving experience at the resortís on-location speedway.

Shopping: Not all theme park shopping options include stuffed animals and plastic toys. Some, for example the Kennedy Space Center, have fun clothing options. Movie memorabilia and other souvenir ideas arenít out of the question for adult theme park visitors either. For example, guests at Universal Studios in Orland can shop for Harry Potter items to their heartís content.

Dining: Donít assume your only dinner options will be burgers, fries and chicken fingers. Many theme parks offer grown-up meal options with spectacular views. Even Tampaís Lowry Park Zoo has a sit-down menus that include gourmet desserts, grilled grouper and cocktail which can be enjoyed while overlooking the giraffe and zebra habitats.
