Photo from the Road: Peruvian Woman in Blue

SacredValleyGirlinBlueRSZD

High in the Andes Mountains, in the Sacred Valley of Peru, I ran into this woman somewhere between Cuzco and Machu Picchu.

Full of it, isn’t she? And I mean that in a good way. I had no way of communicating with her linguistically, but something tells me with the twinkle in her eye, she’s definitely someone I’d enjoy hanging out with. And how ‘bout that view? Living where you get to see a view like that every day is something few people get to experience.

She really was full of fun, as you picked up on just by looking at the picture. It was a great day, and she was such a good sport about having her photo taken.

Not to take away from your lovely photo and story, but Google decided it was a good opportunity to run a singles ad for “Peruvian Girls to Marry”, made me look twice at what page I had landed on!

    Hi Kymri,

OMG, how hilarious! I hadn’t even looked, because those ads are just background for me now, since it’s not appropriate for me to click on them from my own site. Guess there’s really no way around it with the auto ad feed, but geeze. Thanks for stopping by, at any rate. Glad you liked the photo.

Great shot! How could she not look happy in a place with such a view?! That’s one of my favorite things about visiting beautiful places — whether you have / can have a conversation with the others around, most everyone is saying “this is awesome!” with their eyes. Thanks for sharing – love it!

I love the contrast of her bright shirt with the green of the background. Her facial expression makes me think she is hiding a great secret! A truly beautiful view indeed.

What a hat she has! Thanks for sharing the story. I hope to visit Peru someday.
