Photo from the Road: Urban Chic in Jerusalem’s Old City

urbanchicJerusalem

As much as I love the class and old world charm that traditional decorating brings to the table, I have to admit that urban chic is beginning to have it’s appeal as well. This shot from Jerusalem’s old city gives me the best of both worlds.

The stone and electrical wire are pure urban, while the star window and antiquity of the building bring in the old world element.

Jerusalem’s old city is full of these little places, bringing a sense of history to every step you take. Do you have a favorite spot in Jerusalem, or another favorite historical city (cough, Venice) where new meets old in a way that can only happen in ancient cities that have survived through the ages?
