This photo was taken on the floating islands of Uros, on Lake Titicaca in Peru. I’ve always been struck by how much this little girl looked like so many of the Precious Moments images I remember growing up with.
The weather was phenomenal that day, making the reed islands seem even more amazing. The local costumes are so colorful, and the lifestyle so simplified that I couldn’t help but spend at least a half hour photographing this child who had not a care in the world.

I have to say, we were really lucky with natural light that day. Everything looked so amazing, and Uros is such a cool day trip anyway.
