Restaurant Review: The Blue Fig in Amman, Jordan

The Blue Fig Amman Jordan restaurant

Last night, we went out with some fellow expats to a very unique and hip restaurant in Amman . . . The Blue Fig.

This unusual establishment is done in a modern concrete steel and glass design using warm colors, modern art and ethnic flair.

They had art featured from regional artists that was available for sale, and several nights a week promote different multicultural bands from all over the world. The menu is a work of art in its own right, and features multicultural meals with some serious individuality. (The presentation is excellent.) There is a full bar menu (David was psyched at the opportunity to have a Guiness again) and tons of atmosphere, both in the day and at night.

The patrons ranged from the younger college crowd, to the 30-ish yuppy crowd and on upwards to the expat and retired crowd. Did I mention it was packed? We were there for several hours, and it was slamming the whole time. This place, designed to honor all the cultures of the world, deserves your patronage. Two thumbs up!

I have to say, I actually enjoyed their menu. . . as a work of art. However, we did notice that some of the category switches were a bit unclear, which may be what you’re referring to. Thanks for commenting, Bashar! Nice to know people are enjoying the posts. We sure are having a great time in Jordan!
