Miraflores is a section of Lima that runs along the waterfront and is home to a fair number of expats, from what we’ve been able to tell. Inkawasi is a backpacker’s hostel in this same district. Our experience?

Quite charming and decorated with antique Persian carpets, hand carved wooden furniture and giant Buddha statues scattered throughout, this place includes a basic continental breakfast (coffee and roll), communal areas with a cable TV and public access phone, and internet (for a small fee, but it’s an older machine so doing anything with images will be difficult).

Prices vary from around 10 bucks for an open dorm style room, to a large suite-type room with king sized bed, separate sitting area, private cable TV and a marble bathroom with jacuzzi (around 26 bucks). There are also numerous levels of accommodation in between.

There’s a small indoor open air courtyard garden with BBQ and two covered seating areas decorated in ethnic style.
