Last May for my birthday, my parents sent me a Cyberpower car charging adapter.
It plugs into the cigarette lighter of your vehicle and provides power through two outlets: one in the same format as your cigarette lighter and the other a standard electrical plug-in. This enables us to have the laptop plus another device up and running while on the highway. Coupled with the internet connection possible through the T-Mobile Dash, previously unproductive passenger time becomes an asset. The Cyberpower device is available at Amazon. We love ours, and would be interested in hearing about your cyberpower experiences.
Update: It’s been a few years since I was originally documenting the various items we were trying out for our trip. Of all the items that have come and gone, I am happy to say that the Cyberpower car charger is still in use in our home. It’s more of a road trip in the car type of tool as opposed to backpack gear. That being said, we do carry it and use it frequently when traveling by car.
