Il Latini in Florence, Italy

Looking for an authentic Florentine meal while you’re in town? Not in the mood to play the quality lottery?
We loved this place! Full of atmosphere and fabulous Florentine food, it’s a “must-do” if you are in Florence. (Via del Palchetti 6r) Closed Mondays, this place runs Tuesday through Sunday and is open for lunch and dinner. However, it’s closed in between each meal session, so you’ll need to double check the hours when you’re in town.

This place is everything you think of when you picture a traditional Italian trattoria. Red and white table cloths, gallons of chianti, meats, cheeses and garlic ropes hanging from the beams and family style dining at long tables where you eat with strangers but get to know them very quickly. At each course, we were offered a choice of two or three options (the ribollita was phenomenal), and the wine kept flowing. Whenever David and I remember our visits to Firenze, Il Latini comes to mind. If you only have one chance to sample Tuscan food, make sure you do it here.
