Day One: Tucson to El Paso

We’re off! The Outlander’s packed, the dogs are medicated, and we’re just about ready to fire down the computer, check out of the room, and hit the highway.
More tonight from El Paso. The picture below is the dogs relaxing, and Myscha getting some blog notes ready this morning before the big launch.
9:00 a.m. - We’ve driven out of the base gate for the last time, and are loaded for bear. All free-floating items have been secured with caribiner clips to overhead handles and headrest bars. The dogs definately know something’s up, and have been agressively jockeying for the best viewing position. The weather is fabulous, and we’re expecting to make great time.
10:15 a.m. - Our first medication stop with the dogs. Check out the pic with David and the girls having a snack on their outdoor break. The rest stops seem to have much more room to accommodate the dogs’ needs. We’ll most likely be using these places in addition to gas stations, where the dog facilities are much less predictable. More doggie travel lessons will become apparent as the trip progresses, we’re sure.
