This is my first post for this category, although I have been collecting tips, references and ideas for some time now.

David and I are in the process of finalizing his retirement from the USAF, and getting ready to travel internationally for several months. To do this, I will need to be able to actively and successfully run our educational site, http://www.thelessonmachine.com  , from the road. Several of you have been asking how on Earth I plan to do this, and as you have heard me say, the preparatory “to do” list is quite extensive. Several of my daily operating systems will need to undergo major transitions, such as how and when I’ll have access to a computer, the location and format of critical data and procedures, phone calls, mailing address and staff meetings to name a few. I’ll do my best to provide a clear picture of how David and I are both working to make this happen. For now, here are several online articles we have found on the subject.

• Mobile Office Kit - What to Take With You on the Road This article details what the author advises taking with you on the road for a more efficient “work from the road” experience.
• Home Office: Road Rules - Work Smart, Travel Light  This article points to some excellent free web-based solutions as the author details the mechanics of how he gets things done on the road.
• How to Run an Online Business From the Road  This guy is a man after my own heart. Running his online business from the road while he cafe hops in Europe. Way to go!
• Travel Tips for Families OK, hats off to this family who runs their own traveling storytellers business AND home schools their children while being on the road basically full time. For the nomad in all of us!
