How to Be a Road Warrior: Accessing Secure Business Data on the Fly

Part two of this informational series is based on a couple of web-based resources I ran across this week.
We will be trying them out over the next few weeks.
- Mail2Web - Mail2web.com is a free service that allows you to access server-based email accounts from the road. I had previously thought this type of access would cost me a very expensive upgrade to the email service I have on my business web site, but so far, all signs are go with this service. They also feature scheduling calenders that interface with wireless handheld devices .
- GoToMyPC Gotomypc.com is a for-fee service that allows you to access your personal or corporate computer securely from any other computer in the world. My road warrior goddess friend Nancy has been recommending this site to me for a while. Well, this week I finally checked it out, and I am very excited about the possibilities. We are exploring whether or not we will be able to pay the people who manage our server for us a bit extra to have our computer stored at their office. This would enable us to use the internet cafes more effectively, and still have access to all of the necessary files and software applications from our computer.
